McGrath's forecast for this Saturday. Yes, that says 60 degrees BELOW zero!! Where is global warming when you need it? Ha! So if you are looking for us, we will be in the house cuddled up in front of the fire.

My Social Studies unit. We compared how the Egyptians used the Nile River to how people in McGrath use the Kuskokwim River!! Huge Success!!!!! We even did art on actual papyrus which is a plant that grew wild along the Nile. We also sang "Sweet Home Nile River" to the tune of - yep, Sweet Home Alabama. TOO much fun - and to think, I will actually get paid for this one day. HA!

Okay here's the story:
Bo and I went on a proxy hunt for Ken. We were in this area the night before and called but saw or heard nothing. Early the next morning we saw a cow and calf very close to camp. Bo's plan was to go out and call for an hour or so and see what happened. Well, THIS happened!! This bull came through camp and actually got his foot hung up on the bow line of our boat! He was moving toward Bo's calls and I happened to be in the path. He was a beauty and so much fun to watch. Bo could barely see him and was not able to get a shot. This moose ended up getting spooked and ran off.
We figured that since the bull was spooked and RAN away that there was no point in staying in this spot. However, we decided that I would stay in the boat and start packing up camp while Bo went about 100 yards to see if he could call it back in. About 20 minutes later - I heard a shot, and another and another! It was not the same one that came through camp, but it was also a dandy!
