Not exactly how we thought we would spend last weekend....
Thursday afternoon started feeling the worst stomach pain in my life!!!! After about 5 hours of thinking I had a stomach virus, I couldn't stand it anymore and Bo called Kas (one of our 2 GREAT nurse practitioners). She met us at the clinic. ACUTE APPENDICITIS!!!!! She hooked me up with some pain meds and antibiotics and started coordinating a medi vac/ life flight to Anchorage. The plane got 15 minutes from McGrath and had to turn around due to weather! We stayed in the clinic all night and had the best care ever, thanks to Kas and Alfred!!!! Life flight made it in the next morning and off to surgery I went (via the most unusual way, unless you live in Alaska that is)!
