Our garden

This was a fishing trip up the Takotna River. Near Victoria Bar.

Bo caught his first Sheefish.

Kevin's grayling
Here's the story:
We left late Saturday morning. It just wouldn't quit raining so we couldn't wait around anymore. We rode 6 hours down river to a great cabin and two great fishing spots! Had the best time. Caught lots of silver salmon and sheefish.

None of us were ready to end our mini vacation. We just wanted "one more day".
WELL WE GOT IT!

About half way home to McGrath, our boat motor died. Luckily, we were 3 miles from a logger's cabin. The only cabin anywhere in the area. So we stayed there and waited.

We left a float plan with couple of people in town. So they knew if Bo and Kevin weren't a work Tuesday, then our "ox was in the ditch"!

Tuesday morning our rescue plane arrived!

THE END
(oh yeah, then we spent all day wednesday cleaning, freezing, and smoking the fish)
WE LOVE ALASKA!!!!
This is the cabin!
Kevin's family let us borrow it for the weekend.
Setting the net

This seemed like a sure thing. But only caught 1!
Great day fishing!
3 "fish on" at once
And Dara gets past the "commercial fisherman's curse"

We ran out of stove fuel, so we built a fire and cooked soup for supper. It was great! Even stayed up til after dark, which hasn't happened in Alaska in a long time!

Headed home with our catch (we think)!
This is the logger's cabin we stayed in when our boat motor quit. Luckily we where only 3 miles away! The guy who owns it happened to be in McGrath that night.

Cooking salmon and rice at the cabin

Denali National Park
Bus ride in Denali Park. This is the Eilson Visitors Center. That is Denali (Mt McKinley) in the background.

This is Kevin and Dara's house in Homer. We stayed here for a few nights.
Kevin and Dara let us borrow their bug for the week, and this is us crammed in it. Bo told us that we couldn't buy anything unless it would fit in our pocket!HA!
These are a few pictures from our fishing trip/picnic on the Takotna River. I have already posted a few from this trip, but these pics are from Bo's camera.

More picnic/fishing trip pictures-this is on the Takotna River near McGrath.
